“We are go for launch”: the students put on their fictitious spaceship helmets and get into position in the spaceship outlined with tape on the classroom floor. The sound of the actual spaceship taking off is playing in the background, and the students join in counting down from 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2- 1-go, and then they go on a joint fictitious journey in space.
Warm-up: this is the beginning of the warm-up from Theme 19: The solar system. Each session in Art of Learning starts with a warm-up. The warm-up is the same in every session within a theme, repeated with an added challenge each session. The warm-up sets the day’s focus, and the warm-up is always a practical activity where the children are physically, emotionally, socially and intellectually engaged.
