Twigs, branches, leaves and soil/mud are spread across the classroom, and tables and chairs have been overturned. The students are slightly shocked to find their familiar, well-known classroom being messed with, and the students react immediately: “What has happened?” “How did anyone get into our classroom?” “Who did this, and why?”
Trigger: each theme in Art of Learning starts with a trigger. In Theme 14 “The lonely creature”, this is how the trigger develops. The trigger is awakening the students from their everyday routines, activating their feelings, their imagination, engagement and curiosity - making way into the theme they will work with over
the next two weeks. Theme 14, addresses loneliness through a (later revealed) lonely creature that has broken into the classroom as a cry for help.
